Italian luxury house Fendi is entering web3 through a partnership with global digital asset management platform Ledger.
As part of the new venture, Fendi and Ledger are releasing a debut collection of tech accessories designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi that brings the legacy brand’s elevated craftsmanship to a unique case designed for Ledger’s secure hardware crypto wallet. The designs were unveiled at Fendi’s Men’s Fall/Winter 2022-2023 fashion show on January 15.
One rectangular design is reminiscent of the brand’s structured “Baguette” bag and is rendered in miniature form using polished aluminum with an embossed rivet and buckle detail. The device opens up to reveal a snug pocket for the Ledger Nano X digital wallet.
A second hardware wallet elevates the Fendi “O’Lock” chain in a capsule shape with an embossed FF frame and concealed hinge that flips open and closed. Both styles feature a rotating snap hook to attach to a bag or belt and an adjustable cord lanyard with double toggles. Future variations on the polished aluminum design include leather inserts, gold plating and a glittering pavé surface of cubic zirconia.
“Through this pioneering union, Fendi and Ledger acknowledge the limitless possibilities of Web 3.0 and the metaverse, ushering in a new generation of luxury and craftsmanship that bridges the physical and virtual worlds,” the company said in a statement. “Recognizing the creative and collaborative spirit of the crypto community, these first pieces offer a glimpse at a near future, where digital memories and collectibles live hand-in-hand with tangible objets d’art.”
The accessories for the Ledger Nano X will be available at Fendi.com beginning June 2022.
